birth name of Prabhu Deva was Shankupani Sundaram. His parents were Mugur
Sundar and Mahadevamma. Prabhu Deva has two brothers namely Raju Sundaram and
Nagendra Prasad. Prabhu Deva had been married to Latha aka Ramlath for a period
of 15 years and they had three children. In 2008, Prabhu Deva’s eldest son
Basavaraju died of cancer. Prabhu Deva has moved to Mumbai and is occupied at
Boney Kapoor's old place in Green Acres.
Prabhu Deva began his career in the movie industry as a
choreographer and later he turned into an actor and director. Prabhu Deva is an
Indian dancer, choreographer, film actor and director. Prabhu Deva serves as
chairman and director of the Prabhu deva's Dance Academy in Singapore during
the year 2010. He has performed in a wide range of dancing styles, is a two
time National Best Choreographer Award winner and has been called India's
Michael Jackson. He has been honoured with a life membership at the
International Film and Television Research Centre of the Asian Academy of Film
& Television by Sandeep Marwah.
Prabhu
Deva was inspired by his father Mugur- Sundaram Master and aimed dancing and
learning Indian classical dance forms like Bharatanatyam from Dharmaraj and
UdupiLakshminarayan as well as Western styles. He then since choreographed in
over 100 movies. Prabhu Deva got the Awards in his career were National Film
Award, Film fare Award, Star Screen Award, Nandi Award, Vijay Award, Mathrubhumi
Award.
