Charkop Kannadigara Balaga celebrates 14th annual day at Mumbai


Mumbai: The annual day was celebrated by Charkop Kannadigara Balaga of Kandivali at Haryana Bhavan, Charkop, Kandivali on Sunday, October 6. The programme began with Sharada pooja on the occasion.

Advocate Rathnakar V. Shetty, president, Bombay Bunts Association presided over the function. Dr. Suresh S. Rao Kateel, president, association of Medical Consultants (Mumbai) and managing director of Sanjeevini Hospital, Andheri (East) inaugurated the programme.

Gopal C. Shetty, president, Charkop Kannadigara Balaga and Chandrashekar Palettady, Maharashtra president, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh were the chief guests of the programme.

Kusuma A. Ballal received the Bharati Kodlekar memorial award, Devadas P. Salian, senior artiste and stage director bagged the K Kuvarna award and Tungappa Bangera, social worker, Dakshina Kannada district were honoured with Adyar Nadiguttu Timmappa Shetty memorial award.
Variety cultural shows were presented by Balaga members and their children on the occasion.
Dr. N. G. Bhat, advisor, Charkop Kannadigara Balaga, Manjunath Bannor, vice president, Sadashiv C. Poojari, assistant treasurer, Lata Bangera, treasurer, programme committee, Shanta N. Bhat, president, women wing, Veena Sarapady, Padmavati B. Shetty, S. C. Poojary, Krishna Amin, Nina P. Shetty, Jayasri Suvarna, Harish Bevar and others were present at the dais.

Jaya C. Shetty, founder, Charkop Kannadigara Balaga welcomed the gathering. Raghunath N. Shetty, joint secretary compered the programme. Gowri Paniyady, chief treasurer proposed vote of thanks. Gopal Trasi and Ashanat compered the programme.
